The bass line for this tune was written during the blackout that stretched from Detroit to New York in 2002, knocking out all power and communication for about a day. Chris Kaercher composed the Coltrane inspired melody on this, and we recorded this as a classic quartet. The most laid back tune on the record!
Across these songs, Ethiopian jazz, African psychedelic rock and funk, Sudanese dance rhythms, and Tuaregi grooves mingle with the jazz and folk traditions of the Americas. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 19, 2019
